Description

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 14.75 x 20, December 26, 1899. President McKinley appoints George De G. Catlin as a "First Lieutenant of Infantry in the service of the United States." Signed boldly at the conclusion by William McKinley, and countersigned by Secretary of War Elihu Root. Lower left retains the blue War Department seal. In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds, and light soiling and toning.
