Revolutionary War-dated partly-printed DS, signed “H. Clinton,” one page, 8 x 12.75, September 1, 1781. As general and commander in chief of His Majesty's forces within the colonies, Clinton directs a deputy paymaster to "cause to be paid to Captain John McPherson of His Majesty's 82d Regiment…the Sum of Fifty Two Pounds, Seven Shillings, and Two Pence Sterling, Being Subsistence for the Convalescents left by the aforesaid Regiment at New York." In fine condition.
