Rare TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, The Maytag Company letterhead, April 13, 1925. Letter to law firm Campbell & Campbell, in full: “Replying to yours of the 11th regarding the case against Skow Manufacturing Company, which you say is set for trial April 17th. I think we had better go to the mat with this as soon as possible and if necessary to have Mr. Reifschneider here, which I presume it will be, it would be well if it is possible to make sure of the date when hearing can be had, as Mr. Reifschneider will have to come from Rockford, Illinois. I am writing him today, telling him the case is set for trial April 17th and that it will be necessary for him to be here, unless he gets other advice from you. Therefore, if you find for any reason that there should be a postponement from the 17th, please wire Reifschneider, in care of The Rockford Maytag Company, Rockford, Illinois.” In fine condition, with light edge toning, and a stray ink mark to the upper left corner. Only the second letter from the washing machine mogul that we have ever offered, with this particular example dating to the year the company was first listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
