Three original vintage photographs of the revered Indian freedom fighter and pacifist Mohandas Gandhi, including: a glossy 6.25 x 4.5 photo of Gandhi with his friend and fellow non-violent resistor Abdul Ghaffar Khan, affixed to a slightly larger page with untranslated caption below; a glossy 4.25 x 4.25 photo of Gandhi meeting with Jawaharlal Nehru, affixed to a similar page; and a glossy 8 x 6 photo of the late Mahatma covered by flowers at Birla House, New Delhi, India on January 31, 1948, surrounded by mourners. In this last photograph, Indian freedom fighter V. Kalyanam, who worked with Gandhi at his ashram and was the last personal secretary (1943-1948) to Mahatma Gandhi, is seen sitting near Gandhi's head, wearing black coat and placing his right hand on his jaw. In overall fine condition, with several surface creases to the mourning photograph.
