Description

Hungarian-born nuclear physicist (1908-2003) who worked with Fermi on the Manhattan Project and later assumed a leading role in the development of the hydrogen bomb. Three items signed by Teller: a glossy 8 x 10 photo of the physicist, signed in blue felt tip; a first edition of his book Better a Shield Than a Sword, hardcover with dust jacket, published by The Free Press in 1987, signed and inscribed on the first free end page in blue ballpoint; and a seven-page typescript of his "Comments on the Historical Presentation in the television production 'Day One' based on Peter Wyden's book, Day One: Before Hiroshima and After," signed in black felt tip. In fine condition, with a light paperclip impression to the top edge of the photo. Accompanied by a transmittal letter from his office and an unsigned business card.
