American stage, film, radio, and television actor (1888-1963) who is best remembered for his role in The Man Who Came to Dinner. His distinctive white beard was his trademark and he was affectionately known as 'The Beard.' Vintage glossy 8 x 10 head-and-shoulders photo of Woolley sporting his famous facial hair, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Sam, with best wishes, Monty Woolley.” Reverse bears a 20th Century-Fox credit stamp. In fine condition.
