Marshal Admiral of the Imperial Japanese Navy and the commander-in-chief of the Combined Fleet during World War II, known for orchestrating the attack on Pearl Harbor; he was killed in action in April 1943 after American code breakers identified his flight plans. Exceedingly rare oversized vintage matte-finish 9.25 x 13 portrait of Yamamoto in uniform by Harris & Ewing, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "With best compliments to Mr. George Yamaoka, I. Yamamoto, Capt. of I. J. Navy, January 30, 1928.” Framed and in fine to very fine condition.
