Important French painter (1882-1963) who, along with Picasso, was one of the seminal figures in the development of Cubism. Very rare oversized vintage glossy 11 x 15 photo of Braque visiting the ocean, boldly signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "Pour Mr. et Mme. Gelloquer, avec mes amities, G. Braque, 1951.” In very good to fine condition, with wrinkling over Braque's face and chest from old mounting residue on the reverse, and a slightly trimmed bottom edge. Braque is rare in signed photographs, this being just the second example we have ever offered.
