(Walt Disney Studios, 1952) Wonderful original key master background set-up from the Oscar-nominated short Lambert the Sheepish Lion, which shows the young title character looking at his reflection in a nearby pond after being bullied by his sheep siblings. The cels, which are marked "65" and "W35," are placed on a hand-painted production background from the same film. Images measure 3 x 2 (Lambert) and 5 x 2 (reflection), with overall dimensions of 16 x 12.5. The lower border to the background features several artist notes. In fine condition. An extremely rare master background set-up from a beloved Disney short—the original print of the film was given as a gift to Emperor Hirohito of Japan because it was his favorite Disney cartoon.
