Description

German-British biochemist (1906-1979) best known for being a co-recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his work on penicillin. Printed article entitled "Thirty Years of Penicillin Therapy," dated and signed at the head in blue ballpoint, "22nd July 1975, With best wishes, Ernst B. Chain, London," 26 pages, 6.75 x 9.5, in small part: "The introduction into clinical medicine of penicillin therapy and of the antibiotics therapy stemming from it has, by general consensus of opinion, completely revolutionized the treatment of bacterial infections in both man and animals, and rendered the large majority of them, including the most severe ones, amenable to successful therapeutic control." In fine condition.
