Group of five documents signed by governors of Rhode Island to commission Henry Martin as a "Public Notary for the County of Providence", each one page, dated from 1830-1839. Signers are: James Fenner, Lemuel H. Arnold, William Sprague III, John Brown Francis, and Samuel Ward King. All retain their embossed paper seals affixed to upper left corner. In overall very good to fine condition, with old tape repairs to reverse of the Fenner document.
