Description

King of Sweden from 1751 until his death in 1771, whose reign saw an extended period of internal peace, reforms towards greater economic liberalism, and the passage of a significant 'Freedom of Press Act' curtailing of all censorship. Manuscript DS, in Swedish, signed “Adolph Frederick,” three pages both sides, 8 x 12.5, no date. Untranslated document signed at the conclusion by King Adolf Frederick of Sweden, with a large paper seal affixed below his signature. In very good to fine condition, with a binding strip to the first page, some chipping to edges, and scattered staining throughout. Accompanied by an engraved portrait.
