Letter to Congressman Seymour Halpern, in part: "Your thoughtful letter of December 18, 1972, on the subject of world peace has been brought to my attention by the astronauts to whom you wrote. They have asked me to express their views in a single reply. They, as do all men of good will, share your concern for the cause of lasting, world-wide peace. They share, however, a reticence in making public their personal expressions on this matter since they feel their expertise is largely in the scientific and technical fields they have spent so much of their careers to master. They welcome the many recent steps taken to reduce the chances of conflict, especially the negotiations in Southeast Asia, but feel others much closer to these matters are better prepared to provide the responses you seek." In fine condition, with light creasing, and some small edge stains.
