Description

American physicist and astronomer (1791-1859) credited with giving birth to meteor science after the 1833 Leonid meteor shower over North America spurred him to study this phenomenon. Partly-printed admission pass for an 1854 "Yale Lecture on Meteorology and Astronomy," 3.5 x 2.5, neatly signed along the bottom in ink, "Denison Olmsted." In very good condition, with printed text extremely faded and soiling to edges.
