Pratt as president, with his signature struck through and replaced by Amos Whitney's. In fine condition.
Francis A. Pratt (1827-1902) and Amos Whitney (1832-1920) were mechanical engineers and inventors who co-founded the Pratt & Whitney Company, which manufactured machine tools, tools for the makers of sewing machines, and gun-making machinery for use by the Union Army during the Civil War.
