Flagler for two shares in capital stock of the Peekskill Academy, signed at the conclusion by James Brown as president. The certificate features a fine vignette of the school's building. In fine condition. Founded in 1833 as a military academy for young men, the school closed in 1968 due to a decline in enrollment and lack of endowment. Notable alumni include actor Lee Marvin, actor Guy Williams, banker Sandy Weill, and writer L. Frank Baum.
