Influential English art critic and writer (1819-1900) remembered as a champion of the work of J.M.W. Turner. ALS signed “J. Ruskin,” one page, 4.5 x 7, March 7, 1884. Handwritten letter to Arthur Severn at Heme Hill, in part: "Your sketchbook is safe here, and is without question Turner's, and of singular interest. May I come to see you about two o'clock next Tuesday…tell me how most easily to find your street, as I don't know the north of London." In very good to fine condition, with a tear to the blank left margin and small edge splits to the central horizontal fold.
