Original artwork by John Lennon and Stephen Verona for the two-and-a-half minute film 'She Said So / I Feel Fine,' considered by many to be the first-ever music video. The 240 drawings for the video were executed by Stephen Verona, with some of the hand-coloring done by John Lennon. Accomplished in ink and felt tip on white 12 x 9 paper, handsomely matted and framed with a caption to an overall size of 21 x 18. In fine condition.
Artist and filmmaker Stephen Verona met John Lennon in 1966 and suggested pairing a Beatles song with imagery. John sent him an acetate version of the working title 'She Said So' to start on. Verona created Pop Art images for every word and part of the song and Lennon later joined him to help refine the idea, and even colored several of the cells himself. The finished film was shown at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City and won several awards, including the CINE Golden Eagle.
