Outstanding official white-matte RIAA gold record sales award “Presented to Atlantic Records to commemorate the sale of more than one million copies of the Atlantic Records pop single record ‘Whole Lotta Love.'" Framed with its gold disc and plate to an overall size of 13.25 x 17.25; the paper backing features its original New York Frame & Picture label. In fine condition, with some wear to the wooden frame.
The opening track and lead single from Led Zeppelin II, 'Whole Lotta Love' became the group's first hit in the United States and became their only single to be certified gold on April 13, 1970. Rolling Stone magazine ranked the song as number 75 on its 2004 list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and in 2014 listeners to BBC Radio 2 voted it as containing the greatest guitar riff of all time. A great gold record award representing the success of one of Zeppelin's enduring tracks.
