Early uncut sheet of five Mohawk and Hudson Rail Road Company stock transfer receipts, one page, 10 x 16, September 28, 1831, with one transferring all "right, title, and interest in Seven shares in the Capital Stock of the Mohawk & Hudson Railroad Company" to William Backhouse Astor, Sr. In fine condition. Astor (1792-1875) was an American property tycoon who inherited most of his father John Jacob Astor's fortune and earned the nickname 'the landlord of New York.'
