Description

Titan II SLV accelerometer assembly, measuring approximately 1.75″ in diameter and 1″ tall with short wiring cables attached, with a Delco Electronics label on the side: "AC653A, Normalized Accelerometer Assembly, P/N 7557388-011 Item 1 of 2, S/N 52089." It includes a matching small circuit board, also marked "52089," with a cable and connector, used to standardize the outputs or bias of the accelerometer. Includes an inspection tag (with correct serial, but part no. curiously one digit off), identifying the part as being associated with the "Titan II SLV" program, and that it was removed from "IMU S/N 65." Includes its plastic case. The first Titan II guidance system was built by ACDelco using a gyroscope-based IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) derived from original designs from MIT's Draper Labs—similar to the IMUs used on the Apollo spacecraft.
