Description

Russian art critic, patron, and ballet impresario (1872-1929) who was the founder of the Ballets Russes, from which many famous dancers and choreographers would arise. Mailing envelope, 5.75 x 4.25, postmarked August 19, 1924, addressed in the hand of Sergei Diaghilev to the famed Ukrainian ballet dancer and choreographer, "Signor Serge Lifar, Presso Sig. Furlanetto, 40, Corso Vittore Emmanuele, Torino, Italie," with Diaghilev adding his name to the reverse flap, "M. Serge Diaghilev, poste restante, Monte Carlo." In fine condition.
