Bavarian nobleman (1636-1679) who was Wittelsbach ruler of Bavaria and an elector of the Holy Roman Empire from 1651 to 1679, during which time he modernized the Bavarian army, encouraged agriculture and industry, and commissioned the building of churches, monasteries, and palaces, including two Munich landmarks, the Theatine Church and the Nymphenburg Palace. Manuscript DS in German, one page, 7.75 x 12.25, January 2, 1676. Untranslated document signed at the conclusion by Ferdinand Maria as Elector of Bavaria. In fine condition. Accompanied by an engraved portrait.
