Scarce circa 1921 color 31 x 21.5 baseball poster published as part of a weekly series by James Cartoons of New York, entitled "The National Sport," showing a batter ready to swing as the umpire says, "Play Ball." In the stands, a number of spectators shout drinking puns—evidently inspired by recently enacted prohibition laws. In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds, some light border staining, and some small tears.
