TLS signed "W. McKinley," one page, 5.5 x 8.25, personal letterhead, June 16, 1896. Letter to O. H. Kimball of South Amherst, Massachusetts, in full: "Your letter of the 13th. inst. is received and I note contents. It is gratifying to me to receive such assurances of regard, and I desire to thank you for the kindly interest which you manifest." In fine condition. The 1896 Republican National Convention began the same day that McKinley wrote this letter. Two days later, on June 18th, the former Ohio Governor was nominated for president on the first ballot with an overwhelming 661½ votes.
