Cold War-dated gun or bombsight optical window, comprised of a spherical glass dome made of fused silica that measures 4" x 2.5", with inner rim marked "492." Includes the original shipping box stamped "Reusable Container and Dunnage, Do Not Destroy," with affixed parts label: "6605-00-606-1159, 28215500010, DOME, 1 ea., A2-82." In fine condition. This particular dome-like optical window resembles examples similar to a Boeing B-54 bomber gunsight (1947-1949) and a Farrand Y-7 bombsight (circa 1952).
