Space Shuttle Orbiter umbilical connector plate that was part of the spacecraft's Umbilical Separation System and provided compartmentation between the Orbiter aft fuselage and the exterior environment. The plate measures 9.75" in diameter and retains its original parts tag: "Part Number V070-565306-004, Chg -, Date 9-13-83, Remarks OCN 03953-239313." Half of the plate's 24 holes are threaded, 1.5" in diameter, and accordingly marked on either side of the plate, which bears marks to the edge. This particular umbilical plate would be used to route electrical cabling for power and signals.
