Description

TLS, one page, 8 x 10, The Salk Institute for Biological Studies letterhead, February 26, 1963. Letter to Dr. Herman Harvey, associate professor of psychology at the University of Southern California, in full: "I receive many requests to participate in programs that are worthwhile. It would be a pleasure for me if I could comply with all of them. THE SUM AND SUBSTANCE would, I feel, be particularly interesting to do—the subject matter you outline is one that is of deep concern to me and one to which I have given considerable thought. It is, therefore, with much reluctance that I say that the demands upon my time, in the new association I have made here, are such that I cannot reasonably undertake at this time even one more responsibility. I hope I may have an opportunity to view at least some of the series. The partial list of those participating is impressive, indeed, and I am certain the wisdom they have to share with others, regardless of their ages, will benefit all who can be so exposed." Handsomely double-matted and framed with a large photo of Salk and a young patient to an overall size of 27 x 20. In fine condition.
