Two items: a VHS cover for the 1968 science fiction film 2001: A Space Odyssey, signed on the front cover in black felt tip, “Best wishes, Arthur C. Clarke, 25 oct. 97”; and one of Clarke’s unused glossy 3 x 4 personal “Ex Libris” bookplates, signed and inscribed in black ballpoint, “To John Dutcher, from Arthur C. Clarke.” In overall fine condition. The VHS tape is not included. Accompanied by the original transmittal letter from Clarke's secretary, and by a laminated four-leaf clover, a unique hallmark the original collector offered in trade for autographs.
