Though open about his homosexuality, Philippe fathered five children with two wives, becoming an ancestor of most modern-day Roman Catholic royalty. LS in French, signed “Philippe,” one page, 6.5 x 8.75, December 26, 1699. Untranslated letter to "Mon Cousin, le Cardinal Daste." In fine condition, with a small tear to the upper left corner and a few tiny stains.
