Frederick Ordway III (1927-2014) was an American space scientist and author of visionary books on spaceflight. As scientific consultant, he was part of the production team of 2001: A Space Odyssey, and, at the time of his death, he was the longest-serving member of the American Rocket Society, which he joined in 1939.

Frederick Durant (1916-2015) was an American author, naval test pilot, chemical engineer, and expert in rocketry and spaceflight. He served as a 'key advisor' to U.S. military, intelligence, and space-flight programs, including playing a central role in Project Orbiter, the first US satellite program. In his later years, Durant served as assistant director of the National Air and Space Museum and as an editor of Encyclopædia Britannica.

From the collection of noted space and rocketry book dealer Dr. Donald Boggs.
