American statesman (1750-1828) who served as Governor of South Carolina, Minister to Great Britain, and as a soldier in both the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. Ink signature, "Thomas Pinckney,” on an off-white 6 x 3 slip clipped from a document, with paper seal affixed to the left side. Affixed to a slightly larger page and in fine condition, with an old glue stain along the clipped upper right corner.
