Unique hand-made metal presentation statue commemorating the Sputnik 1, the world's first artificial satellite. The statue measures 6.5" in height and 5.5" in length, and shows Sputnik supported by a curving metal ray soaring upwards from a polished metal ashtray with front enamel logo bearing a Soviet Union space emblem. The statue impressively invokes Sputnik 1's majestic and historic launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on October 4, 1957. In fine condition.
