Appealing dark purple double-row tambourine with a 10″ open head used by Prince during rehearsals for the 1984-85 Purple Rain Tour, bearing a clear printed "Love God" label on the handle in the style of Prince's handwriting. In fine condition, with some wear to edges and one set of rings missing.
Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient, a lighting technician who worked on two Prince tours: ‘Prince would play this tambourine occasionally in rehearsals and would toss it to me when he was done, hence the missing discs as it hit a road case one day. We also played basketball at lunch and he liked it when I did impressions of Morris Day, he nicknamed me ‘Precious.’’
