Guaranteed by the State of Louisiana, the second mortgage bond carried a rate of 8% and is signed by the company's president and treasurer. The certificate is also endorsed on the reverse by Louisiana Governor Henry C. Warmoth, "H. C. Warmoth," and features several fine allegorical vignettes. In fine condition. Warmoth (1842-1931) became governor of Louisiana at the age of 26, leading the state during the Reconstruction era from 1868 to 1872.
