World War II-dated oversized 30.75 x 41.25 salesman's sample of a calendar for January 1945 entitled 'The Price of Liberty,’ featuring colorful central artwork of an action-packed sea battle in the Pacific Theater, with upper and lower text reading: “Work, Fight and Buy Bonds” and “In Tribute to ‘Our Boys’ in the Armed Forces, The Thos. D. Murphy Co., Red Oak, Iowa. The Birthplace of Art Calendars.” Printed by the Thos. D. Murphy Co., Red Oak, Iowa. In fine, folded condition. An appealing calendar redolent of the Office of War information posters published by the Government Printing Office.
