Spectacular stock certificate for 241 shares in the Colt Gun and Carriage Company, one page, 13 x 9.5, January 5, 1907. Issued to James John Collins, the certificate is beautifully engraved with vignettes of soldiers, machine guns, ammunition, and other artillery. Signed in ink by the company's directors and secretary, and retains its gold foil seal to lower left. Attractively matted and framed to an overall size of 19.25 x 15.75. In fine condition.
Founded in 1899 by senior British military officials, the Colt Gun and Carriage Company acquired the patents for the Colt cannon and the Dundonald machine gun in Great Britain and Europe. Stock certificates for the company are scarce and highly sought-after for their great graphics.
