American financier and railroad executive (1848-1909) who controlled several railways in his lifetime—including the Union Pacific Railroad—influencing much of the US economy. Partly-printed DS, signed on the reverse, “E. H. Harriman,” one page, 11.25 x 7.5, January 17, 1901. Stock certificate for 100 shares of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company issued to E. H. Harriman, endorsed on the reverse in ink by Harriman. The certificate features an attractive vignette of a B&O train. Handsomely double-matted and framed to an overall size of 19.75 x 16.25, with a window in the backing for viewing the signature. In fine condition.
