Partly-printed document, one page, 11 x 14, November 30, 1866. Desirable elected member certificate from the Naval Library and Institute, issued at the Navy Yard, Boston, in part: "First Ass't Engineer Emery J. Brooks U.S.N. was duly elected an Annual member." The certificate features a large and attractive vignette after a painting by maritime artist Robert Salmon. In very good to fine condition, with some light toning, trimmed edges, and minor loss along the central horizontal fold.
