Bond in the amount of $500 at 8% for Des Moines River Improvement, signed at the conclusion in ink by Commissioner Verplanck Van Antwerp, who had been a Brevet Brigadier General in the Union Army during the Civil War as a member of Major General Winfield Scott Hancock's staff. The ten interest coupons on the left side remain intact. In fine condition.
