British naval officer (1769-1839) who served as flag captain to Horatio Nelson and commanded HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar. Mailing envelope panel, 4.75 x 3, addressed in the hand of Thomas Masterman Hardy to "Ms. Forbes, 19. Rivers Street, Bath," dated to "London April Thirty 1833," and signed in the lower left, "T. M. Hardy." The panel, which is affixed to a slightly larger sheet, is countersigned by Admiral Maurice Frederick FitzHardinge Berkeley, a distinguished naval officer and politician (1788-1867). In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges and loss to the upper right corner tip.
