Army general (1901-1990) nicknamed 'Mr. Armor' due to his extensive experience in tank warfare; he served as commanding general of the 2nd Armored Division in Europe in 1945 and of the Eighth Army in Korea. Vintage matte-finish 7.5 x 9.75 photo of General White in uniform, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen, "To Col. Floyd L. Wergeland with sincere appreciation for his outstanding service as Surgeon, USAFFE/8th Army in Korea and for his friendship which is highly esteemed, I. D. White." Matted to an overall size of 12.5 x 15.5. In fine condition, with a few small creases.
