One of Japan's most skilled fliers, Fuchida (1902-1976) commanded the air attack against Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and was the last to leave the battle area. After World War II, Fuchida converted to Christianity and became a nondenominational preacher, traveling frequently to America and later becoming a U.S. citizen. U.S.A. Air Service cover postmarked on December 7, 1943, and bearing a "Second Anniversary of Pearl Harbor" stamp, signed in English and Japanese in fountain pen, "Mitsuo Fuchida." Mounted and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 9.5 x 13.5. In fine condition.
