Partly-printed vellum DS, signed "George R," one page, 13 x 9.25, October 1, 1802. King George appoints Baron Alexander Moncrieff "to be Lieutenant to that Company…in our Fiftieth (or the West Kent) Regiment of Foot commanded by Our Trusty and Welbeloved Lieutenant General Sir James Duff." Signed in the upper left by King George. The white paper seal affixed to the upper left remains partially intact. In very good condition, with soiling, wrinkling, and a split to the bottom of the central vertical fold.
