Description

Limited-distribution bracket-bound "Introduction to Project Mercury and Site Handbook," MG-101, prepared for NASA by the Western Electric Company, dated September 1960, approximately 275 pages, 9 x 11.25, marked on the title page in ink, "Saunders, Copy 51." This manual presents a brief explanation of the objectives of the mission, followed by a comprehensive overview of the functions, equipment, facilities, and environment of ground tracking stations around the globe. Includes many fold-out functional block diagrams, simplified schematics, charts, and maps showing the interrelationship and locations of the systems at each site, as well as its administrative organization. Housed in its original orange binder. In overall very good to fine condition, with scattered foxing to interior, and some staining to the fore edges.
