Air Force general (1893-1958) who commanded the famous Flying Tigers during World War II. TLS signed “C. L. Chennault,” one page, 8 x 10, personal Headquarters Fourteenth Air Force letterhead, March 30, 1945. Letter to Charles Michaelson, in full: "Your V-Mail letter has just reached me here in China. Although I do not have a spare insignia, due to their scarcity in China, I am pleased to send you this colored replica of our Fourteenth Air Force 'Flying Tiger' insignia." Stapled below is a 5.5 x 3.25 card bearing the 'Flying Tigers' emblem, on which Chennault has signed and finished the letter. In very good to fine condition, with staining to the edges of the letter. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
