Description

Glenn prepares for his Senate campaign: "I would rather do almost anything than ask for money, but that seems to be the nature of political life"

ALS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, March 13, 1971. Handwritten letter to "Mr. Zuckerman," in part: "We certainly need a good candidate for public office, which I would like to consider I am, and frankly, if I am to have the opportunity to run again or to continue public service the first step must be to help erase this debt. I would rather do almost anything than ask for money, but that seems to be the nature of political life. I would sincerely appreciate any help you can give us and the hope you may be able to join us in Cleveland next Saturday, Mar. 20." In fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services. Glenn had campaigned for one of Ohio's Senate seats in 1964 and 1970, but never made it past the primary stage. He would run again and win in 1974, serving in the US Senate for 25 years.
