ALS in German, signed “Meyerbeer,” one page, 5.25 x 8.25, no date. An untranslated handwritten letter that mentions "Faust," ostensibly the 1816 opera by German composer Louis Spohr, who initially took his first manuscript score privately to Meyerbeer, who played it with Spohr singing. However, it was not until Carl Maria von Weber took an interest in the score that it received its premiere at the Estates Theatre in Prague on September 1, 1816. Meyerbeer would introduce Faust at Berlin. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light staining.
