Description

(Walt Disney Studios, 1940) Original panoramic concept drawing by Frank Follmer for Pinocchio: one side features a scene with Pinocchio, Honest John, and Gideon walking to school; and the other features an eight-pose preliminary concept model drawing of Jiminy Cricket. Accomplished in graphite and crayon on untrimmed 18 x 12 artist's paper, signed with his initials, "F. F.," on the Jiminy. Cricket side. In fine condition. Follmer worked at Walt Disney Studios from the late 1930s through the early 1940s, assisting on projects like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, and Fantasia. He alienated Walt Disney when he organized a strike against the studio, and ultimately left to join the Navy.
