Description

German naturalist and explorer (1769-1859) who wrote Kosmos, a massive five-volume study which attempted to unify the various branches of man's knowledge. Hand-addressed mailing envelope, 6 x 5.25, addressed by Humboldt to a high official and signed in the lower left corner, "A. v. Humboldt." Reverse bears a red wax seal. In fine condition.
